Daylilies

Daylilies are one of my favourite flowering perennials which have the added benefit of being edible. They're extremely easy to grow require little maintenance just a good amount of sun with a well drained soil to do well. Daylilies tolerate drought well but do best if watered weekly and tolerate grey water far better then most other plants (but I wouldn't eat them).

Regelia and regeliocyclus Irises

The regelia group of irises are closely related to the oncocyclus group and originate from Central Russia, east to Afghanistan and Asia. They grow on dry banks in mountain valleys.

Iris cultural notes

With such a diverse range of irises available to the gardener, there is an iris for almost every situation. In gardens with cool winters and warm dry summers, most iris will perform well. In hotter, more humid climates the beautiful Lousiana irises reign supreme.Shady gardens provide ideal conditions for Pacific Coast irises, some of the Evansia family, and I. foetedissima.Tall bearded iris and Arilbred iris will do well in very dry conditions, and spuria and siberian iris in a deep moist soil.
