Why grow an unproductive tree when you have the option of growing something that gives back more. There is fruit. nut or berry for any occasion and need be that short, tall, shade or to cover an unsightly fence. Don't be afraid of pruning, it's a tree if you want it short keep it short and forget about yeilds leave that to the comercial growers.
